Now, let's move on to our Cards.

Card 1: The King of Cups

The King of Cups Tarot card represents kindness, compassion and wisdom. This Minor Arcana card can indicate that you will be finding the balance between your mind and your heart. You will have an opportunity learn to control your emotions, and find the wisdom to accept that which you cannot change.

You should be able to gain a deeper level of emotional maturity when this card appears. You may become calmer, more sympathetic to others and tolerant. Like all the cups court cards, the King of Cups signifies emotion, creativity, artistic ability and intuition; but in a more balanced form.

As a person, the King of Cups is caring, affectionate, and empathetic. He is a good listener, diplomatic, and easy going. He is the type of older male who will give you sound advice, and act as a calming influence in your life. He usually has light hair. He has few, if any, enemies, as he is well liked. He may lack the drive to pursue material wealth, as he is more focused on the emotional side of life. He is very family orientated. He may be a water sign such as Cancer, Scorpio, or Pisces.

Key words: Mature compassionate male, calm, caring, friendly, sympathetic, wise, tolerant, diplomatic, balanced, affectionate, romantic, charming, devoted, family orientated, generous, easy going, married man, good husband/partner/father, loyal, faithful, spiritual guide, counselor.

Card 2: The Five of Pentacles

The Five of Pentacles is a Tarot Card that appears when economic times get bad. It shows up when we are losing faith in a relationship, an institution or just in ourselves. It is a card that illustrates us lacking faith in tough times.

When the Five of Pentacles appears in the present part of a Tarot card spread, this tells you that you are not looking at a great opportunity that is right in front of you. Often, this card appears in the present when a generous and loving man is letting you know that he would love to have you in his life; and you are ignoring him as you follow a loser bad boy on a dead end fling. This card urges you to have faith and to see something in your life that is right in front of you that can lead to a much happier situation than the one in which you are currently embroiled.

Alternately, the Five of Pentacles indicates that you feel isolated and alone. Just like the woman on the card, you may wonder, “Why is no-one coming to help me!?” It may appear as if no one cares anymore. Note the light sprinkling down on her, but she is too focused on her problems to notice. You may be waiting for someone to come and help you when really, you need to be proactive and ask for help. Swallow your pride, or let go of your fear of rejection and reach out. People are here to support you. Find them, and let them know you need them.

Another option:
At times, the Five of Pentacles highlights a ‘lack mindset’. You are sabotaging your ability to create abundance because you only focus on what you lack. All you can see is what is going wrong. To shift this energy, look for evidence of what you do have, even if it’s very small or seemingly insignificant, and express your gratitude for those blessings in your life. Over time, the positive aspects will continue to grow and soon, ‘lack’ and ‘not having’ will be a thing of the past.

Key words: Temporary financial hardship, negative change in circumstances, feeling left out in the cold, financial loss, recession, feeling the world is against you, adversity, struggle, hardship, bad luck, homelessness, poverty, unemployment, financial ruin, bankruptcy, outcast, alienation, illness, divorce, breakups, scandal, disgrace.

How did you do? I know Card 2 may seem like a downer, but the Tarot brings truth, not what we want to hear. As Witch, we are expected to be grown ups, no coddling for us. Let me know how I can best support you.
